Replacing steel windows with aluminium
Hi i would like to find out: when replacing steel windows if the old (steel) frame should be used as i had conficting resonses from installers.. the one installer said they use to existing steel frame and clip the aluminium onto the frame and then install the windows (theres no damage to existing walls etc),no problems with the old frame. the other installer said that if they keep the frame it warps the new aluminum windows, there's minimal damage to the surounding brick work but the old frame comes out completely and is more sturdy in the long run.
