House Renovation
G'Day doing a renovation and have removed asbestos Villaboard Ceiling and wall sheeting - have a 5.7m 195x75Hardwood ridge roof beam which was spanning 4m but have removed two studs and is now spanning 4.8m - beam has stood for 37years and has a 9mm sag at midpoint. Need to decide if structurally ok at new 4.8m span before gyproc sheeting. Have used Hyne design software which shows a 195x65mm Glulam for the roof loading and span- can anyone tell me if Glulam is equivalent to Hardwood - could replace beam with Glulam but would prefer to leave as is if possible.
