Gluing ivory
Morning all,
I've just had a bit of ivory come off a key on an old piano. I was hoping someone out there would be able to tell me the best glue to stick it back on.
Thanks in advance,
Virg.

I'd actually think that something like hide glue would be the go - easily reversible & fairly easy to remove if things go wrong. You could also ask your piano tuner what not to use, or ask your dentist
Seriously - a dentist I know fixed a set of keys for another friend a few years ago using dental ceramics, and it was cheaper than trying to get real ivory, you could not pick any damaged spots & as far as I know has remained intact for 20 or so years - and modern dental stuff has improved even further since then.
