Tassie Blackwood Wine Buffet
Hi,
I spent most of last year & the early part of this year building a Camper Trailer & fitting it out.
This has been my only project this year & as I only work on it one day a week, it may be the only project for the year. I seem to be getting slower & taking longer to recover, but what the hell, it's still fun.
Any way, hope you like it sofar.

Looks great.
Do it justice by storing some really good reds in there.

Thanks fellas. I have enjoyed this project as it is the first time I have used Blackwood, & I'm getting paid to do it. Not much good to me, my favourite wine is Burbon, vintaged yesdy morn & icecold.
now thats what I call a smiley

Nice looking buffet. I've been telling myself I need to build on of these for ages!
Oh, and I just looked up your camper trailer build. Very cool
Cheers,

Nice one Steve.
Do the rails extend above the top, or will there be some glass or other timber up there?

I like the look so far.
How are the bottles supported.

Thanks Dave, I was pretty happy with the outcome on that project, I put a lot into it only to come to the realization that I was not able to use it. The bloke that bought it seemed pretty happy though & I had a great return on it so I supose it all worked out ok in the end. ,,, Still miss it though.
Thanks Tex, There is a top to go on & that is cut & in the shed. I have lef it off to save getting too scratched up as it has to stand upside down to replace the wine rack. I have removed the wine rack to spray on the finish & also to apply the finnish to the inside area where it goes. The top will finish flush with the top rails when completed.
Christos, The rack is made up of 2 frames (front & back) & held together with wider stretchers. These stretchers support the sides of the bottles. It was a nightnare to assemble,

Thank you for the update. It was very hard to see that in the photo.

A Few more pics. The wine rack is finished with about 5 coats of Turps & Polly mixed 2/1.
The inside area where the wine rack is installed is also finished & the wine rack is fixed in place.
Today I cut the cupboard doors to finished size & sat them in place on a couple of blocks.
I still have a bit of work to do to the doors as they are only sanded to 150.

I have started putting on the finish.
I have 2 coats on so far & I will put on another 3, then sand it & wipe on 1 last coat.
The quality of the photos is not great, I took them with my phone. too slack to go and get the camera

Now you just have to find something to fill it with.
