black bamboo finishing options
What finishes can you recommend for black bamboo. It will be used as an outdoor fence and be subject to all weather types.

The only finish Ive used on bamboo is to heat treat @ 140C until the wax starts coming to the surface. Then wipe vigorously with a rag while hot to get a shine. Great for flutes etc, renders them impervious to moisture from breath.
dunno if you could do a fence.......
Where do you get decent sized bits of black bamboo?"We must never become callous. When we experience the conflicts ever more deeply we are living in truth. The quiet conscience is an invention of the devil." - Albert Schweizer

Can't give you a good solution, usually bamboo, and for that matter split cane are hard to coat due to their waxy impervious surfaces.
