Hi All! I've have been soaking up info like a sponge for the past week and I've decided it's time to make my posting debut!

My wife and I have just bought an old apartment in Perth. Settlement isn't until Novemeber so we're passing the time by running over a few renovation ideas. I am new to Australia so I am unfamiliar with everything construction related here. Bit of background: it's a ground floor brick apartment (strata title) built in the late 60's early 70's. 5 apartments on ground floor with 5 above. Based on a couple of viewings I've established that all walls are solid (assuming rendered brick) and concrete floor. I would assume that the floor above is concrete with plasterboard ceiling below (lack of knowledge in Aussie construction methods).

I've attached a rough sketch of current layout and a sketch of what we would like to do with the bathroom/laundry room. My main concern would be whether or not the WC wall is loadbearing or not? Not sure of the layout in apartment above.

Any thoughts/ suggestions/ observations/ reality chechs would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance and thanks for all the great info on this site
