Attaching Plywood on top of existing floors tiles on a concrete slab
Hi Guys
I was wondering if anyone could offer me some tips.
The back section of my home is built on a concrete slab which has floor tiles over the entire area. ( 9 mtrs * 5 mtrs).
I am looking at installing a real timber floor, Messmate (Eucalyptus Obliqua) that will be 80mm * 19mm. On top of a 12mm plywood base that will be secret nailed.
I am considering my options in terms of the installtion of the plywood.
If I should attach that directly to the floor tiles or alternatley take the floor tiles up and attach directly to the concrete slab.
Does anyone have any tips as to what would be the better way to go.
If I am able to attach the plywood directly to the tiles what sort of product should I use ( a glue or something else).
Or is its recommended that I attach directly to the slab what product should I use.
What is the best option any views.
Thanks
