Adding extra light
Hi guys,
I am wondering if someone can give me a hand to understand what I need to do to add another light globe to an existing light.
I have a light outside our back door which doesnt shine where I want it to so I want to add another light to the same switch to have two lights in sequence as so:
Switch ----- Existing Light ----- New Light
I have had a look at the wiring behind the current light and there are four holes for wires to go to and three wires there currently (obviously ground plus red and black) and the empty hole is labeled 'loop'.
Do I use three core wire again for the extension piece?
Do I wire the same colours together for the new light, or do I use the loop hole somehow?
I know this is a simple question for a qualified electrician so hopefully someone can let me know how to do it.
Thanks in advance
Aaron
