painting over water stains
I am just about to repaint my ceiling, in two of the rooms I have noticed small water stains one in each room, no great deal the largest is about 150x150 radiating out to 300x300 . The varios reasons for the stains have long been fixed. I was told by the paint shop to cover these stains I would have to get a tin of an american product for about 20 dollars or that the stain will bleed throuhg, I am sure that there is another way to get around this problem, several years ago I had a spot on a wall that would not take paint, I painted silver frost over it and the paint is still on the wall, but I can't remember what I did between the silver frost and the water based paint, any ideas
