Replacing toilet pedestal-advice needed
I have bought a new toilet suite to replace an old one. The old toilet pedestal is an 'S' bend and the waste pipe is visible where it enters the the pipe leading into the sewerage line. The collar is sealed in the usual way with a low strength mortar mix.
My problem is that the 'S' bend in the new pedestal (Raymor Bella Plus) is inside the pedestal surround and can't be seen when it is in place. Can anyone tell me how the pedestal waste pipe should be sealed into the collar of the sewer pipe since it is not accessible once it is in position? Thanks!

When I bought my new loo it came with a cap (of sorts) for the waste pipe. It's basically a cap with a big rubber section on the top. I imagine the plumber who installed it simply put the new loo in place and pushed the outlet through the rubber seal (but I wasn't home at the time, so I don't know if there were some other steps involved).
Cheers,
Anthony

They work just as atergent said, and they are called a pan collar. You may find that the collar on your existing earthenware pipe will be too big and or too tall for the shroud of your new pan, and you might need to change from earthenware to pvc under the floor and then add your pan collar.

Thanks Anthony and Tools. I've unpacked the complete toilet suite and no rubber pan collar was included. I'll contact the suppliers and find out just what I need.
Thanks again,
Don

Simple - the licensed plumber you are using will know and will have all the right tools and fittings . . .
