    Default Mandarin goes pear shaped

    Mandarin goes pear shaped .

Mr Smith booking his flight on the phone to the travel agent... " Never heard of Mandarin airlines, are they any good?"

Travel agent "They are excellent, there have been some small parking issues but nothing of concern"

That was the flight from New Zealand. The pilot neglected to allow for the change in hemispheres when crossing the equator...

The details are at the link, from which:

Remarkably, there were only three fatalities among of the 300 passengers and 15 crew members aboard the flight.

amazing isn't it Zen, you would have thought given the look of it that it would have been a much greater disaster. Personally I'm sticking with QANTAS!
