Smile Just finished coating my Merbau deck in Spa-N-Deck Merbau color

I must say I'm very happy with the way it came up, it looks great IMHO! I used Powerlift first, Spa-N-Deck Prep second then 4 coats of Spa-N-Deck.
Just in case others are wondering how the new Merbau color looks on a Merbau deck I posted this pic up of my deck for others to see.

Thanks to JimJ for putting me onto Spa-N-Deck!

I didn't think of taking any before pics, silly me.

The timber was very grey though as I left if weathering for around 5-6 months I think. Also, half the deck was undercover and the other half was exposed so there was an obvious variation in color before I started coating. However, once I applied Spa-N-deck it blended extremely well and now you can't spot the difference in color!

    Yeah good job there.

I have recently built a deck on my front porch and just about finished a much larger one out the back in Merbau and I really like the look of what you have done there.
Mine sounds very familiar to your as its half under cover and half not. (pic below)
Yours does look like you've built 1 or 2 decks before....very nice job.

Can you still see the grain at all? If at all possible, could you take a couple more photo's different angles and up close? Please?

    Cheers

No probs, i will take a few more pictures tomorrow and post them up.

You can still see the grain. I remember reading on this forum that the more coats you put on the more you cover up the grain so I think 4 coats is the maximum before hiding too much grain.

Actually our houses look very very similar. My rendered portico looks just about identical and I also have the painted borders around the front windows.
