    Default gramophone needs loving

    , the story
today i had to brake into a storeroom and change the lock on a government housing house , in the store was a heep of junk , i asked , " do you want me to clean it out " to the new tenant , yes was the reply

previous tenant was deceased , with no details ?

so at the moment im looking for some who will rebuild this gramophone , and not flog off the parts on ebay

ive put it up on my face book for an uncle to look at , so if your interested in it say "I" and i might give it to you as an xmas present ( you pay freight from darwin )
the original gold leaf veneer would be hard to restore but its there , ill look at your prevoius post to decide on a bloke who will do a good job

Nice, read up about them and they are from the early 1920's. I'm looking after a different style one that belongs to a friend who moves around a lot. Don't know if she'll ever come back for it, Its been 4 years so far. Why not attempt it yourself? Must be a great job to find things like this. I need a new job like that.

Interesting find, would have been a great piece in its time. Lots of memories for someone but lost in the passing of time.
    Reality is no background music.

    Hi sawdustsniffer,
I have the same brand with legs and record storage made by the same company in Australia in 1916, which I restored a few years ago. It's a job not for the faint hearted.

Yes I would like to take of your hands and restore it. I have asked mate in Darwin if he can collect- subject to it being available.

    cheers
