I am a troll, sorry for the inconveninece
Well, i thought it was about time i came clean and admitted that i am a troll. i have really enjoyed leading you all up the garden path for the last few months, and i am sure that none of you ever suspected that i am actually a 23 year old girl named jenny who doesnt have a triton, a makita router or a set of stile and rail bits either, whatever they are.
i just had too much time on my hands and thought i would invent this 46 year old male character because im sure you stuck up stodgy old woodworkers would talk to him with some respect even if you wouldnt talk to the real me.
Well, its been fun, but i thought i had better come clean at last

I didn't actually ever get to read any of your posts, I tried but my eyes just wouldn't stay focused on the text.

I am starting to get a little tired of all this.
There seems to be a movement starting that is getting quite silly and stupid in the extreme. It also seems to be to see who can push the Moderators to the limit before overstepping the mark.
I think there has been enough mention and accusations about trolls, Dougs Boobies and working out how to get away with the magic word or any other swear word.
The frivolity and fun is fast dissappearing and being replaced with stupidity and crassness which you credit with adolescent youths, not adults.
As for bastardising someones nickname, cut it out. It besmirches and confuses the original name to visitors reading the board. People reading the board don't always notice the gap or whatever. It also fills the board with useless crap.

Yup. the voice of reason.
How about we go back to being ourselves - it was funny the first time but I've heard the joke too often.

I concur, as a "victim" of the naming scam I feel as violated as a person sitting to dinner and being rung by a telemarketer.
can a IP address search be initated so that once a userid is created with that IP another cannot be by some lock out mechanism ?Zed

Unfortunately, few people have IP addresses that stay constant. Dial up users will have a new IP address each time they connect. Broadband users will most likely get a new IP address every few days at least.

Most connections use randomly-issued IP addresses. e.g. Each time you dial in to your ISP you are issued with an IP address but they're not always the same. Similar things happen with those of us with a Broadband connection except that the IP address is only re-issued when the modem is reset.
Your cunning plan, whilst admirable, would result in a massive lockout of the genuine members of this forum.
I feel its unfortunate that there are those who have to be deceptive though. I don't mind sharing woodworking experiences with genuine woodies and I don't mind a bit of appropriate banter. (Hey, I'm really a whacky guy!!) As to those who aren't genuine woodies, if you want to practice your crappy little deceptions, then go and find another forum. There's plenty of opportunities in Internetland for those of you with a roaring vacuum between the ears to play your silly childish games.

Why not just charge a small fee for becoming a member of Ubeaut....or how about you buy a Ubeaut hat and the membership comes free with that.

Ill be in that, sounds like a good idea.
I would be more than happy to pay a fee, rather than loose the mateship of this forum.
