    Default lemon celo?

On channel 7 a few saturdays ago there was a show on italy about lunchtime and they showed how to make lemon cello (sic).
As they used pure alchol (and i believe it is ilegal to make in this country)i was going to substute some vodka to experiment with and was wondering if any one saw the show or got the recipe?
the main thing i want to know is do you add the 2kg of lemon peel to the water and sugar and boil it or put the lemon peel in the alchol then add the sugar and water after it has been boiled and cooled.
after 30 days it is ready to be sampled
    cheers

    Farmboy,
this is my recipe and people (including Cliif Rogers) think it's okay:

Take the peel from 8 washed and scrubbed lemons (you want the peel only, not the pith as this makes it bitter and cloudy)
Soak for 5 days in 750ml of vodka in a cool, dark place.
Strain through a coffee filter to remove any cloudiness.
Boil 2.5 cups of water and dissolve 2 cups of sugar into this, let cool.
Add the vodka mix to the sugar syrup (you may want to adjust this for less sweetness if desired).

    Enjoy

'Limoncello'. If you go the 'right' restaraunts in Haberfield, Sydney, the owner(s) comes out with a big tray of glasses of the stuff - dunno if its commercial or DIY in the kitchen, but as a non-drinker I have to enlist the aid of my friends to help get rid of it Supposed to be quite good.

    thanks mick
my 98 proof vodka will taste a bit better with the lemon mix
my FIL drinks the stuff straight with hot chillies:eek: its a tradition when you marry into macedonians so hopefully the lemon will reduce the kick of the alchol a little bit
i will ask russel ( ashore ) around and he can give you a run down on the flavour when i make it
    cheers

From memory we are entitled to have a still as long as it is less than 4.5 litres.
