    Default Forum Problems ?

    Hi Guys,

I don't know if there is a problem with the forums or between you and me or if there is a problem at my end. But its taken me about two hours to reply to three posts and I can't even add to a thread of my own. Its like there is no response for ages and then suddenly there is. I've also noticed that there are several duplicated posts.

    Thanks:
    Best Regards:
    BaronJ.

    Hi Baron,
normally I won't be able to do anything about 6 in the morning over here but I think that is because a few people are logging on at the same time and the server is overloaded.
    Other than that...

    Phil

on edit, I noticed your post in the Chinese mill thread was about 6 in the morning over here.

    Hi,

I just replied to the home page post regarding the same thing. I think the entire forum is slowing down some. I thought is was my computer (old and seen better days) or my internet provider. It usually is slowest in the mornings though.

I have received a message on numerous occasions saying that the forum is too busy to send a page. I have wondered if 6:00 am is always that busy? I can understand it is a convenient time for some members, but busier than late evening? The majority of members are local so we are all working in similar time zones, except for some over the other side of the continent that is.

I have a sticky beak at around 5 each morning while I'm eating my breakfast. I'm not to far out of whack with you blokes.

As Christos said above, this problem has been brought to the attention of the Admins.

Also, have a look in this thread, it will give some further info.

I have moved this thread from Metalwork to here so more people get to see it and it isn't really Metalwork related.

    Default 1 PM UK Time

    Hi all,

Its 1pm here in the UK. Its taken several minutes just to open the home page !
It doesn't seem to be time of day related. Having several machines and four browsers to play with, it seems that the server simply does not respond to the first request, or if it does it gets cued and not responded to for some time. It could be that there is some advertising that is not responding quickly enough or not at all and the server is sat waiting for it. Its been like this for two or three days now for me. Also when I'm posting things seem to vanish or pictures that don't end up in the right place.

I have also noticed that the statistics that used to appear when you hovered the mouse over an image no longer appear, just the image name.

    HTH.

Slow here in Perth as well. 7:40 p.m. It took 20 seconds for the Reply board to open. Usually it takes about 1-2 seconds. It has been like this for about 10 days, and occurs any time of the day. Other forums - overseas - respond immediately.

    Regards from Perth

    Default Picture Statistics

    Hi Guys,

I've just been updating a thread of mine and adding some pictures, I've noticed that when I did a "Preview Post" all the picture statistics are displayed just fine ! However when I have submitted the post those statistics are no longer there. Only the picture name is displayed.

    Thanks:

Hi there, it's on my list of things to look into. It sounds like a side effect of the software we installed a couple of weeks ago, we're still ironing out some issues. I'll get in touch in the next day or two and let you know what the go is.
