I don't know who most of those are, and don't care about the ones I do.
You have served to confirm my suspicion that this social media stuff isn't for me.

Would have to agree with Damian 110%.
Noticed that most of the top 50 [that's as far as I got] were either female teeny boppers or people who think they are important. Was surprised not to see our "famous" cricket twit - not that I looked too hard.
Call me old fashioned but I was always of the idea that if someone was called a "twit" that it was not exactly a compliment.

Yeah but forums have been around long enough for me to have figured out how to do it.
I looked at the face twit but it involved doing stuff to enrol so I gave up. Besides apparently they leak personal info from what I've heard. Friend's wife uses it and she says she's made her's private but it looks like effort and life's too short.
I've found a few mailing lists and forums where good people hang out and that's enough computer for me
I can't imagine why I'd want to tell anyone I was going to the bathroom let alone why anyone would want to know.
If politicians, media and celebrities are doing it it can't be for me....I'm just a startled bunny in the headlights of life. L.J. Young.

I agree, the difference with forums is the greater level of equality and the >140 characters or whatever it is. With twitter it's the possibility for the pontifications of the moronic few to be accepted as gospel by the moronic many that worries me.
Still, I suppose as my friend Hud continually puts it, it's a part of life's rich tapestry.

I like that!! May I use it?
You realize of course that what I wrote, your response and then my response are in essence "tweets", not that either you or I are in the stated class (and what I just wrote is another "tweet!). Now I do feel like a twit.

I am glad you said "another form" I would hate to think that anyone would even attempt to compare the trash that is talked about on Twitter or think it is remotely similar to this forum. Most posts on this forum are constructive and we don't ramble on telling the world what we had for breakfast or when we are going to the bathroom. Do these people really think that anyone cares?
I have an ex daughter in law who is constantly telling the world, (whoever that may be in her mind) on facebook, every minute detail of what she is doing at any given moment, even to the point of telling her 9 year old child "Go to bed now" Hello! the child is in the same room as you, tell her to her face to go to bed.
Get a life.Reality is no background music.
Cheers John

I'm with artme on that too. It's a classic! I hope you won't mind being plagiarised .
I don't do twitter, facebook or any other of the so-called social media. Email and the Woodwork forums are as far away from the humble and virtually extinct "letter" as I wish to go.
