There are some real idiots out there
]So I get this email. The subject line is: Dear ebay member... And cause I'm not working (getting ready to leave Canada. As most of you know I have at times too much time on my hands.
From the subject line its obviously it's a phishing expedition:mad:. For personal curiosity I track down the perpetrators of such personal identity theft attempts. Normally they originate in some god for sake place where they can't be touched. Interestingly, a lot of the phishng I can trace back to Australian ISPs - but the actual website is in a 3rd world country. But this idiot's in Pennsylvania.
In less than a minute of receiving the email I knew his name address and phone number - Kenneth Andersen of Pennsylvania.
Not sure if it is actually him; cause most crooks, or at least the ones with an IQ greater than a blade of grass don't use their real name and such when registering websites that they intend to use for illegal purposes.
Anyways, I ring the number. Dumb a$$ answers. I demand  "Is this Kenneth Andersen?"
Idiot responds "Yes it is"
I say "So you're the frickin idiot trying to steal my identity?"
This fools only response is (guess he didn't expect someone to phone him on it.
"Well I'm tryin to quit that"
I’m thinking, WHAT! You mean you need a 12 step program to quit stealing someones personal information.
So my response is "You stupid frickin idiot. You are too dumb to pull this sort of **** off so give it up".
I know he hasn't hung up but I don't get a reply, can't understand why .
I think what spooked idiot the most is I phoned him in less than 5 minutes of receiving the email. So he had only just initiated the phishing trip in the last hour and already someone knows all they need to know about him and gives him a call. The website idiot used to attempt the phish with if anyone is interested is http://www.authebay.net
In less than an hour of phoning him the website is down - too funny . I'm gonna phone him back real late tonight and have some fun with him.
For those who don't know phishing is when soemone sends out emails to known email accounts hoping to trick the recipient into giving up personal information to later be used to steel from them.Last edited by Shane Watson; 30th April 2005 at 07:38 AM. Reason: Fixing code.

Normally I'm not that nasty to people but something about the deliberate attempt to ruin others lives got me worked up a bit.
