Finish looks like a nice smooth surface but how much of the timber grain is showing thru? You've done a great job with what you had to work with.

As I said tho NMS for a baby's room - teddy bear handles or not...

This will give you a reasonable idea of how much of the grain is showing through.

It probably over emphasises teh chocolate colour - it is actually a little darker than this - I think it is the flash effect from the camera.

I understand re Black (or dark) and the babies room, but we are happy with it, and it does fit in quite well.
