Sanding/Staining/Polishing required?
Hi all,
We are doing some sprucing up of our house in preparation for selling. We are painting the walls and considering what to do with the flooring. At present we have 10cm wide floorboards (no idea type of wood), I believe they have been stained and polished though the finish has worn in heavily trafficked areas.
Considering the flooring finish is showing signs of wear do I need to resand the entire floor and restain/polish? or can I just reapply some stain? if so will the worn areas appear lighter then the rest?
People talk of Oils and Polyurethanes etc, are these the types of things I need to be looking at as opposed to stains?
Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.
