Attaching posts/bearer to weatherboard house
G'day, I'm wanting to erect a timber fence and carport and have them both attached to the house. The house is constructed with (plastic) weatherboard panels over a timber frame. What is the best way to attach posts and a bearer to the house frame? remove/cut sections of weatherboard, or simply sandwich the weatherboard in between? simple diagram... blue is the new post, grey the existing frame.
