Top Gear Australia
Attention Top Gear enthusiasts! Top Gear Australia is one step closer to your screen with the announcement of the show's hosts, and they are: former race car drive and broadcast journalist Charlie Cox; award winning cartoonist and motoring columnist Warren Brown; advanced driving instructor and race driver for Porsche Australia, motoring journalist and photography stunt driver Steve Pizzati and of course, The Stig.
Top Gear Australia, with the three motoring larrikins and The Stig's Aussie cousin, will be coming to SBS in late 2008.

The Stig, well who'd know if it's him or not?
But Warren Brown, to borrow a Brit's term - what a prat.
I'll give it a go, but I can't see it having the entertainment value of the original.

Personally i think trying to replicate TOPGEAR in aus runs the risk of becoming a sad failure and will not be a patch on the original.
I mean what Aussie car company is going to give them the latest super car to be flogged around a test track. Who will come up the cheesy satiar of Clarkson............................I dont think a poxy xg xr6 punting around eastern creek is going to cut it!

Poxy XR6!? The new model is blowing away all competition, even that of the HSV V8s.

Waldo now honestly
XR6 is the best thing on Ozzie roads
tis is only because of stemed competition and import tarrifs putting out of reach cars we'd love to thrash the hide off a XR6 with.
Hang on Subaru have a have a contender a couple often the cops cant catch them.
Lets see where will the show tear ups throughthe Snowy Mnts or Walcha to Wachope or Visa versa, Bellingin to Dorrigo.

Yer. But our (&$# cars just don't cut the mustard when compared to Lambogini and those other ridiculously expensive cars they have in Europe. Half the fun of that show is seeing the "blokes" just being "blokes in them. I just wouldn't feel like watching a show about fords and holden... I'm sorry but that is just the way it is. I'd rather do house work. and I bet the car companies would think it was a show that they could use to sell their cars....How boring....

Was coming over Mt Lofty down the back road to Greenhill Rd one day and there was an XR6 parked there having a fit of a time turning the corners. My little Mazda 3 just gobbled it up, wasn't driving that hard either but that big heavy Ford was having to fight to get around those bends.
Anyway he was a good guy and let me past and lets face it that road is made for small cars being so tight and the Mazda has the same size tyres as Falcons.
I was thinking about doing a video to get the host job on Topgear Australia it was going to be titled "???? about face" or how to make a toyota go properly. Basically reversing the engine so it sits between the wheels instead of being a dead weight overhanging the front wheels.
Final segment would have been a new Beetle and what is the engine doing here when it should be down the back?
Would I have been funny enough?
