    Default Pad Footing Size

I'm building a small extension on my house (33m2) as an owner builder. The extension is on brick piers with concrete pad footings.

My question is, will I need to get an engineer to specify the footing sizes, or is there a one-size fits all (according to the AS1864-4), even if it takes more concrete.

I know some will say you'll need an engineer cert. But my reasoning is that concrete in this instance would be much cheaper than getting engineer involved.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Also does anyone have a copy of AS1864-4 they could share with me?

Yes, I searched here before posting. I came across this thread:

    https://www.woodworkforums.com/showthread.php?t=37954

Which is what led me to AS1864-4 and some members mentioned they have a copy of this section of the code. I've sent messages to those members to see if they can share it.

So, I don't think I need the entire code, just the section (presumably sect 4) relating to pad footing sizes.
