Typical Melbourne, can't start the match because it's RAINING  sort of.
It's perfect weather here - should play all the tests here - should give locals free entry and charge the visitors double - should have free beer for all locals watching it at home and make the visitors drink muck brewed in their own state - should ...
ahhh stuffit. Rain's the best chance the Poms have got
Wouldn't it be funny if the next two tests are washed out and Warne finishes on 699 wickets

They're on the pitch. The big silly bloke in the white is bowling to the big silly bloke in the white and the morons in the ch 9 commentary booth are reminding me why I need to be in the shed listening to the radio.

Do you reckon Shane's 700 will be one of those momentsd that is remembered as a .... where were you when....?
Personally I dont think so but there will be those who disagree. Either way well done and congrats. It will be a cool thing to tell his grandkids in years to come.

Remember what I told you blokes about Langer during the first test.
A big ton, then zilch for the series until the last test where he saves his spot yet again. It's all on track to come true.If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

i might be jumpin' the gun a bit but really...the poms are sadly deficient in the skills necessary to perform at the top level. And what's worse is that by the time they have the experience and confidence to actually win a couple against someone other than Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka they will be too old for selection.
Ponting will make 250 in the first innings and 200 in the second. If you never made a mistake, you never made anything!

If Ponting makes 250 in the first innings, Aust won't need a second innings.

And on the second day, the Lord said unto Ponting, "Go forth and bat till ye have reached a remarkable total. If needed, set forth the rest of thy team and verily thou shall build partnerships the like of which the Poms have ne'er seen. And fear not the reverse swing or the bouncer for yea verily the crowd will be with thee, thier banners and their costumes shall encourage thee and thou shalt smite the pom from the MCG and behold thou shalt win by an innings and 40 runs.
And Ponting looked and heard and said "sounds like a plan to me!"
