I mowed today
I mowed today.
No big deal I hear you say.
But I absolutley HATE mowing, the only reason I mowed was that we got a mower in with a job lot that didnt work.
So I set about trying to get it to work, I even bought  a part for it to help to it get to work..
Guess what, the bugger fired up and I was so proud that it did, that I mowed some grass with it.
Never again.....

me too, and finished as the rain arrived. This is the earliest I've had to mow at my 'summer' rates. Also pleased the rain is soaking into the Kikiyu I have sowed in an area where I had to burnoff last year.
I mow an acre with a pushy $500 Rover from Bunnies. I actually believe myself when I say it is keeping me fit.
If anyone in Melbourne is selling a rideon let me know.

Ah geez Al you crack me up sometimes
HWMBO shocked me silly the other weekend when he went and bought himself a lawnmower!!!! He came in after 5 minutes of mowing and told me it was my turn!! Silly Darling Bugger he is, I don't 'do' lawns......... or change tap washers, an honorary bloke has to draw the line somewhere you know.Box Challenge 2011 - Check out the amazing Boxes!

Thats good Al.
Sounds like a better mower than mine. Mines missing the catcher flap thing on the right, such that when ever I run over gravel, it throws projectiles right at my neighbors house..... did you know ! that in 4 years I haven't of yet, even ONCE, managed to smash one of his windows. Disappointing that is.

I liked my old wind-up Victa. The motor was salvaged from a bingled racing go-kart and it didn't have the flap either... didn't throw stones though, just stone dust.
Didn't miss a beat when it converted one o' the neighbour's chooks (bloody things were always digging up my seedlings! ) into blood'n'bone either.

I'm thinking I should probably mow my backyard - the dog no longer runs around it, he has to leap around it if he wants to see where he's going

G'day,
Mowing? Hate the stuff - takes away from my shed time and more often than not gives me hayfever.
Have one of those old Victas that you wind the ratchet handle up, flick it and open up the throttle. Worse part of it that it's so reliable and starts every time.
Meant to mow today, I was meant to mow last week but had a cold - need some way of getting out of the mowing today damnit.

It was higher than that
Operative word being 'was'. I've just staggered in from creating a grass clipping mountain in the back corner. I've only got a normal type back yard but still went through a tank and a half of fuel. Bugger the edges - scruffy is good, and I've decided the front lawn is more decorative in its 'natural' state.
The sad part is, only a couple of weeks back, it just looked 'scruffy' - a bit of light rain and a bit of warm sun and the clover went stupid. Of course, I could mow every week, but that'd be consciencious

I Love mowing . . . SNOT!
Gunna mow tomorrow. My step son had his 20th birthday last Thursday and decided on a BBQ at our place on Sunday. So I have to clean up the yard etc. At least I'll get the food I want, I'm head chef and bottle washer

I don't have a lawn, I have front and back weeds. At the moment I have a good crop and my excuse for not mowing them at this time of year is that it's the wild birds mating season and they need the seeds to feed their young.
