A 90-drawer cabinet

Gone to a good home.

Have used this 90-drawer unit to house all sorts of tools, equipment and numerous other things found in the workshop. I brought it at a deceased estate auction some 10 years ago.

Each drawer is 420mm long.



The unit contains a secret locking mechanism. I’ve never had a key. The mechanism locks in placed 87 drawers, 3 drawers are not locked, find the 3 to unlock the 87. The locks are activated from left side.

Can find no similar drawer set on internet.

Any ideas or help with this would be appreciated?

Can't help with info about it but have a 12yr old grandson who would kill for it to put his massive collection of Lego bits into. Only problem is he'd need an extension ladder to get to the top draws.

It's a beautiful thing and I love it.

Great security measures as well.

I am struggling to find a reasonable sell price for this. But there is a stronger urge, that is to make sure it goes to a good home. I can't think of a better home than yours. The cabinet requires professional removalist to ship it, which will be a lot of dollars. If you think you and your grandson could use it, (there is a lot of Lego spaces here) and an item which is an investment, I am happy to accept what you think is a reasonable price less 25% (thats in consideration of the shipping cost). the truth is over the years Ubeaut has helped me, this is my saying thank you Neil. I've no doubt granddad could make an OHS safety set of steps!

Had a road-trip with son and Grandson up to the other side of Canberra last Thursday to pick up the 90-drawer unit from Tony.

Grandson Sam is over the moon with his purchase and intends to fill it with Leggo... well at least he will until there's no room left in the drawers.

A great big thank you to Tony and Andrea for allowing Sam to purchase it from them, although I noticed that Daddy forked over the money, not Sam. But he did pay dad back when we got back to our digs for the night in Goulburn. Breakfast at the Paragon on Friday was as good as I remember from all the trips up to family in Singleton as a child. Highly recommend it still after at least 40 or more breakfasts there in the last 70 odd years.

When we finally got it outside and into the back of the van there was a small bang noise and the long-lost brass key fell out of a hole somewhere into the doorless cupboard. I think the chest just then chose its new owner. The unit had to go into storage for a week or 2 whilst renovations are being done. It's being stored in Bacchus in Marsh at son Thayne's factory. We were loading it onto a extra-large pallet and couldn't see Sam anywhere. Turns out he was down the back of the factory polishing up the brass key with fine abrasive.

The final bit: I reckon Sam will be wearing the key around his neck for the rest of his days.

I wonder if a library chair/ladder might give enough height for Sam. There are many designs. This was the first one I pulled up:

I liked the story of the key. It was meant to be. Thank you Tony for sharing the story and releasing the furniture to a good home.
