Exterior timber door frame
Hi folks,
My back door frame has had some hardwood added around the outside for the purpose of fitting an aluminium Security Fly-screen Door (actually an old second-hand "Barrier" Door). I'm going to buy a better Security Door. Problem is that the piece of wood added on the latch side is all the wrong dimensions.
So what I need to buy is a length of timber about 15mm x 30mm suitable for exterior (gets a bit of rain splash).
Questions are:
1. What kind of wood is suitable? (ie rain-resistant and not too soft)
2. Where in Sydney can I get it in 15mm x 30mm?
(The currently added-on wood extends the frame outwards 30mm on the other two sides of the doorway. But the bad side extends only 25mm, and worse still it's too thick in the other dimension)
Thanks for help,
Cheers,
Davewastech
