Used Bigpond for the first time today (just signed up for Business Broadband package. These forums and Renovate forum were almost as slow as good old dialup. Bloody pathetic. Every other site I tried seemed to be fine and running at a fairly acceptable speed.

Opened a couple of threads and the posts were coming up at the rate of one post wvery couple of minutes Gave up trying in the end.

Got home and onto the broadband and snap instant everything.

Spoke to Steven (The guru) and he tells me we are getting lots of packet losses up to 35% and this is what seems to be causing the problems. We have a ticket in with the ISP and hopefully this will be rectified soon.

I thought it was just me! Some of its me. But good to know not all of it! I'm not with Millpond. But I think my provider goes through the same pipes.

Had issues last night, went to reply to this thread, waited 8 minutes and no reply box, refreshed the page and nothing for 15minutes. Opened a new tab and checked other US hosted sites that I use, all working OK. Ran a speedtest into LA, ping 240ms, download 2.5Mb/s, upload 460Kb/s, checked into Brisbane ping 44, download 14.5Mb/s, upload 460Kb/s.

    Gave up at that point.

Tried at 6pm tonight, delays etc were worse than last night, spent some time trying, cleared caches, tried other browsers etc to no avail. Cooked and ate tea, tried again and back to normal.

Optus cable, Melbourne Outer Eastern Suburbs.

Thanks for work involved in tracking and solving problem.
