Cable Consumption
I'm renovating my house at the moment, and bit by bit I'm getting my sparky (a good mate I've known since primary school days) to replace all the wiring and power points where necessary. I was shocked to find when I stripped the kitchen walls, that mice had chewed through my cables, exposing the copper in places :oo:. They'd also gnawed a huge chunk of the PVC drainage in an old tub I had stored in the garage. It's as if they were gaining sustenance from eating plastic.
I've gotten rid of the mice a while ago now, and I'm renewing, and sealing up all rooms one at a time after I've checked the cabling. The walls are lined with masonite which has to be replaced anyway, but my question is;
I've heard that they're putting a vermin repellant in cable insulation nowadays. Is there any truth to this?
