I have recently bought a used Dining Table with Six Chairs.I have been told that the wood is of teak. I want to redo the polishing of the chairs and tables. The furnitures are black in colour and Iam not sure whether its painted or polished. How can I find out whether its painted or polished,so that I can redo the work,to improve the looks. Please help

Probably teak oil or shellac or both give it a really good wash down with hot soapy water. If it doesn't clean up wash it down with ethanol and a bit of fine steel wool.
