    Default Tiling around kitchen cabinets

    Quick question...

We had a new kitchen installed last year which is sitting on the concrete slab. Old kitchen area had cork tiles, of which I am removing the last of it now in preparation to tile the kitchen floor. When setting the last tile up against the kickboards of the cabinets, should this just be cut for a flush (no gap) fit against the kickboard, or should there be a small gap? Also, I assume I shouldn't grout between the tile edge and the kickboard?

    Thanks for any advice.

Get as close as you can without going stupid, I've used a silicone seal on the edge and then installed 10 x 10mm quarter dowel over the top and in the same colour as the kitchen, from a few feet away you dont notice the dowel, and it gives you an even shadow line so it looks neat.

You should never grout between tiles and disimilar materials. Neatest finish is a gap equal to the grout gap you are leaving elsewhere and some coloured acrylic or polurethane sealant to match your grout colour.

Good tips thanks fellas. Will see how we go and when I get to that step will decide which way to go (probably the equal spacer gap with sealant - if the cabinets end up being square to the tile line
