Roof iron
Hi folks, how do I tell that I have zincalume or custom orb roof sheeting?
Silver colour.
I need to remove some clear sheets and replace them with whats already there and want to keep them compatable.
Cheers.

Custom Orb is just a fancy name for corrugated iron sheeting.
Zincalume is the protective coating applied to iron/steel sheets (flat and/or profiled ie Custom Orb).
So if you have corrugated roof sheeting that has a silver appearance then its very likely to be zincalumed Custom Orb.

Zincalume has a much finer appearance than galvanised which tends to look splotchy

custom orb sheeting
Yes you are right zincalume doesnt really have a texture to it, but galvanised does, it has "spangles" in its appearance "shapes" of approx 5-10mm. Dont mix the 2 as galv is purley zinc and zincalume is zinc/Aluminium and you will get corrosion if you mix this 2 as they are differential metals.
