Covering an oiled finish
I recently finished a cabinet with three
coats of china wood oil (modified tung oil)
but now SWMBO has declared that it attracts too much dust and wants it recoated with something easier to clean.
Can I spray it with lacquer (my latest experimental material!) and if so what preparations are required?

I WOULD SUGGEST YOU USE A SINGLE PAC POLYUERTHANE AS THEY ARE BOTH TURPS BASED.
THE EASIEST WAY, JUST WASH DOWN THE PIECE WITH TURPS.THEN SPRAY THE SINGLE PAC AT LEAST TWO TIMES,MAKING SURE YOU SAND IN
BETWEEN COATS TO GIVE A NICE SMOOTH FINISH
THEN TO CLEAN WIPE OVER WITH A DAMP WARM
CHAMOIS OR SOME O'CEDAR OIL
