I Was Just About To Say Something Inane :oo:
and me power supply died.
it had 450w on its side and I replaced it with a 250W unit
will that give problems?

It will work OK, until all the smoke comes out, then it will be very dead. Actually, I'm not sure about that some devices may fail to work when under supplied with current - e.g cooling fan on the CPU.
If you just have a basic system - main board, graphics card, one HDD and possibly a CD-ROM, then you may get away with it, but get a 400 Watt plus power supply for when the current one expires.
