Lifes Storm Clouds Silver Lining
Hi all
Well lifes dark storm cloud does have a silver lining and ours shimmered recently.
Some may recall that three years ago my partner sufferd a workplace injury that caused severe damage to her brain that has impacted upon her ability to function normally. This has caused her chronic anxiety with some depression.
Life has been difficult to say the least. We were looking at a continued battle with her employer and my leaving my job as my time was almost up down here and she was not well enough to return to a big city and I was going to resign.
But amazingly in the space of two weeks my partners invalidity retirement has been approved, despite constant fights between the employer and her doctors, and i have been offered an involuntary redundancy from my employer.
So we can now settle for good by the sea at Port Macquarie NSW in a new house, no debt and thanks to income protection a reasonable wage for my partner until she hits 60. And i ordered her a new Toyota RAV4 as a present today.
Now i just need to find a new job......Im thinking bikini inspector or bra fitter......and roberts my fathers brother

Dude,
Thats great, I know what its like, been going through PND with SHMBO, as well as my own depression, it isnt great. Good to hear some good comming your way. Enjoy it, celebrate it, but make sure you keep your and your wifes support structures close, they are important.I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

Glad to hear of your silver lining at least it will help to reduce the day to day worries and that can only be good
As to a job how about a Mammogram Van Man just so you can keep abreast of things in your semi reitrementAshore

Depression is a right bar-steward - been there, still there. See if you can get your current GP to sign the papers so you can get a Commonwealth Carer's allowance - abot $90 a fortnight, no means test. And if Little Johnny thinks he needs to buy votes you might get a lump sum just before next election.
As for a job for you - I'm sure that Port needs a rental workshop like DIYDan's place at Hornsby - and it would all be deductable/amortisable
Hope you & the Missus enjoy fishing, swimming etc.
