    Default Transporting resin benchtop

Hi, a mate of mine, living at the south end of the North Is., has asked me to see about a resined Macrocarpa benchtop, 3.2ml by 600mm wide by 50mm thick, with a resin coating. I'm thinking this distance might be a bit far to transport with flexing and vibration and would be easier for him to get it done locally or in place.

If it is just the benchtop that gets transported I would think that in a flat box packed with foam would be ok. It is a big piece and I would think that it might be quite heavy.

I wonder what sort of flexing would be involved in such a long piece.

I'm thinking it would need to be transported like stone or glass -- in a crate, standing up on it's long edge.

Thanks Ian and christos, thinking that making a frame to rest in, vertically or at an angle, with the rear edge on the bottom.
