Default Slippery Timber Finsh that's vegan friendly and long lasting, Help a Noob.

Hi guys and girls I am currently making a timber tripod and there's a few timber on timber bits that may need coating and they will need to slide.

Most of the timber is Tallow wood which I believe can be left untreated to to the natural oils in the timber, is this true and could I have any issues with borer? I noticed some other lengths in the timber yard had borer holes in it, I know almost nothing about timber.

Other timbers will be Spotted Gum, Blue Gum and the legs are Tassie Oak as that was all I could get, I was planning on epoxy coating these but I'll have to do a test to see if the Tallow will still slide on the epoxy finish.

The tripod will be fully motorised and the finish is likely to never be touched after the user in Scotland receives the thing due to lack of hand control/carpal tunnel.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

Ended up going with the Gilly Stephenson's Orange Oil, three coats seems to be a good number and then the timber starts to orange up too much.
