Is a range hood necessary?
Hi,
We're doing a new kitchen and can't decide whether we actually need a rangehood or not...
It's a small kitchen in a fairly small apartment. Currently there's a fan-in-the-window type deal (a bit like you might have in an old bathroom). Probably okay if you don't cook much, but we cook a lot.
We don't get in there 'til October, but the kitchen is being designed now, so we don't have a chance to see what works and what doesn't...
The problem is that it'll be too difficult to get one that vents to outdoors because of body corporate. Those dinky retractable hoods do bugger all, and I'll be loath to spend big money on canopy or fixed range hood that just recirculates.
Probably not putting cabinets above the cooker, so I 'spose we can just leave it open and install one later if it gets too greasy...
thoughts?
