Default queen anne made in collingwood

Hi, my name is deanne and I'm a first timer to woodwork forums.

Having been on this website hundreds of times I've decided its time to register.

Today I've been looking for the meaning of european labour and found it.

Now I'm looking for a particular furniture maker in collingwood. Unfortunately I can't read the actual company name but its a queen anne bedside table and it was made in langridge street collingwood.

If anyone has any clues as to the maker and when they might have been in business that would be awesome!

    Welcome to the forum!

I hate to tell you, but Queen Anne died in 1714 - about 141 years before Collingwood came into existence, so I'm guessing your table was made, at the earliest, during the reign of William IV, but most likely during Victoria's reign.

    Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

If you go to the State Library and look up 'furniture makers' in a trades directory or trade paper around the turn of the 20th century, you should find one, if not more, furniture makers in Langridge St.
    .
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

    Regards, Woodwould.

    Hi Deanne,

I've a bowfront tallboy from the same maker
the name is E.H.L. Burgess of Langridge St
Collingwood, I estimate it was probably made
