How much can I add to a door to widen it?
Does anyone know what is a recommended maximum amount that can be added to the a door edge to make it wider?
I have a brick recess in a bedroom that would suit two 485mm wide doors, with a 50mm frame. But the cupboard doors are only made in 520mm, so I plan to buy an 820mm bifold and separate it to 2 x 405mm doors, meaning that I would need to add 40mm to each long side of each door to widen them by 80mm, that is 485mm wide each in total.
Has anyone done this before?
