Beer Glass
i didn't want to hijack Toggys' thread so started this.
Old farmer was talking about beer and washing the glass and shape of the glass.
Up to age 29 (got wed ) i was a fairly heavy drinker, thats where the social life was back then in the clubs and pubs of northeast England.
As the saying went we would drink out of a dirty pi@@ pot if we had to.
Last week i was in my local pub and a guy asked if he could have the same glass back. i asked him why and he said "mate those glasses are great they hold the head all the way down everytime "
Now i always thought that depended on the beer.
Do you guys have a favourite glass and try to keep it.
I know its against the law for you to be served in the glass you hand back but!!!!

The good ol' Aussie 285ml pub "pot." (Sign of a mis-spent youth?)
The rounder shape seems to keep the head longer; the ordinary glass (200ml I think?) goes flat too quickly and a Pony (140-170ml?) is a waste of an order.
I despise the things some pubs use in their lounges, which have handles. As often as not the beer is flat by the time you travel from the bar to your table...

Glasses
An old uncle (Now departed) who was a regular drinker , a long neck each night (750mL bottle), consumed out of the same glass every time. Glass was used, given a quick, and I mean quick, rinse,no soap/detergents ever came near. It was then put in the freezer on the door where it lived, ready for the following evenings activities.
When asked why? Only way to keep a good head and keep the beer crisp was the reply.
The beer? Don't remember but was probably Carlton Draught (I remember a rooster on the label?)
