Default Must Have Tablesaw Upgrade (Especially Carbatec Saws)

If you have seen any of my build threads you may have noticed my tablesaw fence which I crudely made out of a couple of square pieces of aluminium and a 6mm plate. All this was clamped to the side of my Biesemeyer style rip fence which came with my Cabinet Saw. The extra length and height has been much better than the OEM version but I wanted something that would add more accuracy and functionality to my tablesaw.

    Here's my old fence:

So without further to do I found a local company in Tullamarine Victoria called "RM Components" that sell T-Slot fence's of all different sizes and the the price's are very reasonable.. I choose the 30 series (30x90mm) which have a t-slot that accepts all standard woodworking t-bolts and accessories.

It costs less than $40 for 1.2 metres so I ended up buying 2.4m as I figured I'll upgrade my tablesaw sled aswell. I also brought some m6x40 Button Head screws & m6 Sliding T-Nuts to attach the fence to my Biesemeyer.

No drilling or cutting nessary, everything fitted perfectly without a single issue. My tablesaw is a 250mm Carbatec Cabinet saw but I know the same can be achieved with other saws.

Possibilities are endless with this fence:

Evolution of my fence: those plastic things were attached first:

So in closing, if you want to upgrade your tablesaw fence, or any fence for that matter (apart from the garden variety), I can thoroughly recommend this extrusion especially if you have the same tablesaw as myself., I just wish I had seen it when I first got my saw!. Customer service at RM Components was excellent by the way.

I would also suggest comparing prices with other similar aluminium fences....

    Rockler: $105 for 915x76x19mm

    Torquata: $115 for 1015x76x19mm

    Shocking...
