Not sure about villa board, I hav'nt used it much.
When I use gyprock tho I've been told to keep it 15-20 mm above the floor so that if water gets under the floor it does'nt soak up the wall.

Also you should use a cement screed mix and give the floor fall to the floor traps in the room and level off under vanity's and toilet pans. Normally fall is around 15-30mm per meter, in your shower you want as much fall as you can get without making it impossible to tile.
If you dont play it, it's not an instrument!

James Hardie recommend a 6mm gap under the vilaboard and that you install the sheets with the long edge at right angles to the framing. They have all the installation instruction on their web site - well worth a look.

Unless I had an exact diagram of your bathroom showing what you want to do and what you have already I can't tell you. That sort of decision is best left to a plumber, really should be done by a plumber too.

I see on your plan that you are going to have a corner bath/spa AND a shower? You could put the shower over the corner bath ad have some more room.

I reckon that a Smartile looks quite snazy.
What's that black area on your floor plan?
