High Front Gutter
I am repairing some water damaged fascia at the back of the house caused by gutter overflow. Also have been looking on the net about the new regs AS/NZS 3500.3 which refer to gutter overflow.
Basically, the gutter is installed high on the fascia, with the front being higher than the back. Consequently, during Queensland downpours, the gutter overflows over the back of the fascia into the enclosed eave. Link to SMH article. Link to SMH article.
All the manufacturers seem to have info. This pdf from Stratco has various methods which could be used.
Has anyone had guttering installed to the new standards? If so, which method was used. I'm leaning towards the 10mm spacer at the back of the gutter to let the overflow run down betwwen the back of the gutter and the fascia. If you have used a spacer, what is the space made of or where can you purchase said item?
