Rangehood venting
I am trying to think of ways to externally vent the rangehood without going vertical. Our ceilings are 3300mm and no matter how I put it into the kitchen software (rectangular duct, circular duct, bulkhead), it just doesnt look good due to the fact we only have room to put a 600mm rangehood in.
So, I was wondering if I could go sideways - through or above the cupboard next to the rangehood cabinet and out the exterior wall? If I put the duct on top of the cupboards, I could install a large crown moulding to hide it.
The problems I have thought of:
- the duct needs to bend 90 deg to go from vertical to horizontal
- if rectangular duct is used, it has to bend another 90 deg to rotate from standing upright to laying flat (if that makes sense)
Could this idea ever work? Or is it just not going to be possible? thanks
