Hi All,

This is only me second post. I've done quite a lot of reading of old posts and I think this is the right place for this one. I'm reviewing the classic architect v drafty debate and would really appreciate some advice.

I am in the planning stages of an internal (kitchen/lounge/bathroom) reno of a 1952 post war house in Brisbane. I've already wasted money on a highly recommended architect but having a good building knowledge and a fair idea of what I want, what I really need is a combination of individual services. I've listed these below by the job type:

  • Structural engineering (load bearing wall removal)
  • General design (minor window changes and overall layout advice)
  • Kitchen layout design (I have a good idea of what I want but still want to get the most out of it)
  • Interior design to tie colours together and apply a 50's theme over it

Now that I've written it down it sounds like a lot but I really don't think it's that much for the right person. Tell me if I need a reality check or if what I need could be serviced relatively easily by the right company or person? Any recommendations or referrals in Brisbane would be appreciated.

Cheers
