Default Food safe sealers for butcher's block

Mark from the timber supplies " Timberall" at Chinderah, just over the Queensland border near Coolangatta told me that he say a posting a few years back on how to seal Australian hardwood to keep the tannins in and to stop food juices from soaking into the wood.

It is more then a grape seed or food safe mineral oil as they only preserve the timber. I have done some searches but can not come up with anything. can anybody help?

The big old buther's blocks used to get hot parrafin wax poured over them, then scrape off the excess.

Modern thinking goes either bare or mineral oil.

Sorry, did not look at previous post regarding Nut oil and allergies. did not mean to hijack post but to me they are a different problem but possibly same answer that I am looking for. A sealer, mark said it is on one of the Australian forums and he thouht it was this one.
