Default WOODWORKING QUIZ for 11 Dec 04

    Good Morning Friends,
When preparing to build a piece of furniture for the first time, out of expensive wood. Why would a person first build a proto type of the piece he is going to build?

    Respectfully,

For exactly the same reason artists, centuries ago, made line drawings on parchment, to fine tune their proposed piece which would be painted on rare and expensive material.

I myself am currently constructing a small scale table out of pine, to check out a technique I wish to employ in the final production.

To make sure that it will fit through the door of the room that the piece is going into

So you can refer to it when you make the video of your masterpiece, just like Norm.

    Good Evening Friends,
You are correct as to make one out of inexpensive materials will help you construct the real piece because you will have figured out all the bugs and learn some short cuts to use in making the actual one. Also it will give you some idea of how much to charge for the piece.

    Thank you for your support.

    Respectfully,
