filling gaps in floor
Hi,
Does anyone know how to fill in the long wide gaps (approx. 3-5mm) between 6 inch Kauri floor boards before sanding and oiling?.......gaps are due to shrinkage in boards over time. I need to sand boards 1st with a drum sander and have heard that the fine timber sandings can be used to fill gaps but am not sure how to do this........maybe someone can please advise how or have any other suggestions?
Also can anyone recommend a brand of oil which gives a satin finish and has long wearing properties?........one brand I have seen is CABOTS CFP polyurethane oil
Thanks
