G'day - SHED PROBLEM
Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum. I leave in Wembley Downs WA and I have been renovating a duplex there with my partner.
The inside is finished but we have now moved to the outside.
We have cleared out the front and back yards which were completely overgrown with pepermint trees built retaining walls and levelled the front and back as much as possible.
Next week the reticulation is going in and the grass is being laid.
My next challenge is this: I would like to build a shed/storage room/garage on the side of the house. We have a drive way that is 3.7m wide by the side of the house joining the front and the back and that is where I was hopping to put the shed. Simple brick structure with 1 wall on the boundary a sloped roof anchoring on our side of the house and 2 x roller doors at each ends to allow for walking through. No water or electricity...
I got two quotes from builders who have come back at $25000!!!! Any advice?
Second option was to buy a colour bond shed with a door at each end for about $4000. Spoke to the council who advised 4-6 weeks for approval and then 4-6 weeks for a building permit as it is over 10sqm. That brings me to nearly 3 months....
I was wondering about putting 2 sheds just under 10sqm behind each other but from what I read you are only allowed one structure under 10sqm without approval.
Any advice about any of this would be more than welcome.
Cheers
Julien and Peta
